dishro 500 diseqc settings

Postby gva27v » Fri Oct 19, 2007 3:38 pm

I've played with it and played with it, and everytime I think I have it working it sticks on one satellite or another. When I do get it to work I get video on one sat and not another. This is set for the 110 119 birds.

I'm a newbie with diseqc settings. Used to one single lone sat. Decided to upgrade.

Anyone have a detailed setup for this animal???

Thanks in advance for your help.

Well have a dish 500 now and a cheap ol kworld dvbs100 card. Using the current version of dvbdream, and running vista ultimate.

Using the updated transponders from joshy. It's like the switch in the dish doesn't know where to go.

no switches except the one in dish.

I think you must have a DishPro or DishPro Plus twin. The normal operating mode of this 2-sat LNB assembly is to send one satellite out one coax and the other out the 2nd. However, there is an internal switch which may (or may not) be diseqc. You can use the DishPro twin to feed two receivers (or 1 dual-tuner receiver) without additional (external) switches. Unfortunately I have no idea what it takes to switch that internal switch. (Mine is plugged into a DP34 switch which is diseqc.)

Actually it is a plus twin, as I had no idea there were two different animals, now that I went out and looked at it. It does have a diseqc, as far as I know, as I can get it to see one sat or the other, with some weird settings, but not the way it should be, and switching between channels as it should.

Yes. BDA NATIVE. Been reading in detail about disecq settings. Even went so far as to get rid of the old legacy diseqc, and put a dp34 in. Works fine with the captive receiver, but no dice with the card.

I dont think your card is listed on the supported devices list, as such it will probably not work. The dvbdream BDA driver is limited to the supported devices. I would suggest trying MyTheatre for support of BDA cards not supported in dream. They work seemlessly in that program. Its a little harder to setup and doesnt work as nice as dvbdream but works well with BDA cards i have found. You can even use MT it to switch between birds and still use dream, a bit clunky but it works.
