buy a smarcard-reader that supports phoenix mode.
Than use a plugin like PMCam, ACamd, Newcs to use the smartcardreader and your subscription smartcard in order to view the channels.
I'm using a smartcardreader myself and it works like a dream.
(I have to DVB-S cards which both support CI, but I've discovered a smartcard-reader is more versatile. like Silaencer stated: DVBDream doesn't work with CI (not every card).. and there are more programs which do not support CI, but they support plugins.)
My SAT-Hobby-Rigs:
Primary Rig: AzureWave AD SP400-CI (rebadged twinhan vp1041) / PMCam with phoenix-reader. Running on: Windows Home Server on intel-quad-core with 4gb RAM and ~ 3Tb storage
Secondary Rig: SkyStar 1 CI (rebadged twinhan vp1030a). Running on: XPsp3 on intel-P4 with 1gb RAM and 80Gb storage
Dish
80cm Triax, Multi-twin lnb on 0192, 0235
