As I said above Nero 7 does not work, you need the latest Nero 6 instead.
As I have Nero 7.2.3b on my PC I do not want to go through the tedious job of uninstallation then reinstallation of an "older" version .
A friend of mine sent me the file NeVideo.ax (Version 3.3.0.20) from his Nero 6.6.... Version.
It was recognised and accepted by DD but I could only get the sound of a HD channel (Luxe on Hotbird) not the picture.
The Video renderer case turned red and refused any of the 3 choices ("generic","Video Mixing" and "Video Mixing 9")...
What have I got wrong..?

seems to say that only in older versions of Nero 6,(Before Febr 2005) , the NeVideo.ax can be used alone :
"... as far as I'm aware, newer versions of NeVideo.ax (with Mpeg4/AVC decoding) can't be run separately anymore!"
