Hi, I have modified DD EPG from old SDK to test function for correct decoding of EPG strings (encoded in ISO 6973) that I've written. More testing than I was able to do would be useful and than integration of decoding function into DD's internal EPG parser would be appreciated by many users in europe (where this encoding became standard for DVB-T).

hello petrusek
it works well I have tested with CS link and UPC.
It would be nice if people from other countries checked as well. I am not sure where this standard is used but I guess that polish, french, german, italian and maybe others symbols are covered.

I think french, german, italian... should work without a patch, otherwise topics relating to wrong characters would appear in the forum.

However, we could contact the author of polish EPG fonts, per PM or mail, since I don't think lot of people from Poland can read topics in this hidden group.

hello,
After the request for arabic EPG decoding I realized we do need some mechanism to retrieve EPG language information from the stream. Has anyone some pointers where to look and what to look for? Imagine it would be a mess to set EPG decoding per channel or per provider basis.

I think that autodetection would be nice, but possibility of manual overriding per channel or at least per provider could be usefull because of mess that some providers are able to broadcast...

Well well, i see in this wikipedia link that polish characters should be now correct display. I'll test this later and give a answer if works.
