Your video card is an integrated video chipset ?

You need ATI video card for ATI codec, but you can try Cyberlink (new version), nVidia, or Sonic...

No. My video card is Nvidia Rio 32MB (very old same as my CPU). So, does it mean my CPU usage is just fine considering my hardware?

Its sonic which I have not tried. But Im not familiar with codecs. there's a lot out there and I just dont know which one to use.

Thank you guys for all the help.

Sorry haven't noticed this in your signature, so your video card seems to be an old nVidia Riva TNT2 32 MB AGP 4X.

The answer for your question is.... Yes it is!

Question : as Riva TNT2 handle MPEG2 decoding acceleration, try to activate it in codec settings.

Thank a lot for all your answers. Its just that many asserts that DD is more light in CPU than ProgDVB. But it seems that in my case, its the same. But I like DD better of course because I am able to record other channel while watching another. Also, the recording is more stable.

Anyway, how do I accelerate codec?

Thanks also for giving me the correct specification of my Video card. I don't know why I mentioned Rio - must be because its the name of a girl I knew. he!he!

Postby Nokios » Sat Dec 16, 2006 3:41 am

I tried many many video codecs...The best (by far) was an old nvidia one.I will attach it to this post.
Just include it in your folder and double click to register it then chose it in the video option pannel..

Edit FredB : Attachment deleted - This codec is protected by copyright so it can not be distributed without the agreement of his author... Sorry :?

Put it in any folder on your PC...(For example in the main DVB dream folder)
Then right click on it and choose register Active X

TO FredB........Sorry...and thank you for removing the file....
I thought it was safe to publish it being a very old one..
Again sorry and thank you for removing it..

Thanks. But right click does not give any option to register. Is it a ".ax" file?

Thanks Nokios, I think what you have given is a copy from the system. Not the one that is able to register. I checked the file in my system and it is available only with a bigger size.

Can you send it to me by email? check you pm.

Then right click on it and choose register Active X
By default, there is no option in Windows context menu to register ActiveX or DLL files.

Here is a sample batch file to register all DLL and ActiveX files included in a folder.

And also a fine utility program to had register option in Windows context menu.
