The "Embedded 16:9" aspect ratio option is not working properly. This option should cut for example a letterbox to be like "16:9" while it doesn't. Also when the channel is in native 16:9 this option cuts the picture so it's not 16:9 anymore.

Win7 x64 + EVR + cyberlink8 and AC3

DD won't try to detect AR, this takes time which will make the channel changes slower and taking action according to this might not be reliable because not all providers sending the correct data or some dont send at all

Possibly because there was no EVR in 1.4, it looks it doesn't work good with EVR.

It works good* with VMR9, "Embedded 16:9" option + "Keep aspect ratio (VMR)", Cyberlink 8, Win Vista.

* it means all 4:3 channels are cut to 16:9, so not just letterbox, not sure if this is what you want, but please try what I suggested above.

Yeah that's what I want. I'm using EVR because only on this renderer I can get hardware acceleration of HD channels. So using VMR9 is not a option for me.

I can confirm that it's a problem in 1.5 version, in my case with Embedded 4:3 function (I'm watching on 1280x1024 Display). It just stretches image rather than embed. If I check also "Keep Aspect Ratio", then it's the same 16:9 and black stripes. VMR 9 is used, and I have tried different codecs.
It is working great in 1.4 version.
