Hi,
May I make a suggestion?
First of all, I should like to say that I also use WinTV for recording (bear with me please).
In order to use their software from the command line (and allow my program to monitor it),
I copy the executable from WinTV7Rec.exe and make two copies WinTV7Rec1.exe and
WinTV7Rec2.exe.
This allows me to start each tuner separately and monitor for failures.
Your DVBdream.exe is designed to check for existing sessions, (as is the dreamstart.exe).
This is fine, but prevents use of more than one recorder - and you can now buy cards
with four channels now!
My suggestion, is that you check the executable name called and if not DVBdream.exe,
disable the checks and just use the command line options to start a recording.
This would fix the problem that I have seen mentioned in the forum many times, but still
retain the dreamstart / dvbdream functionality.
Your thoughts?
Regards,
Richard Gamester.

Re: Multi recorder suggestion
simply install a second instance of DVB Dream in a separate folder.
Each instance keeps configuration (hardware and software) in its own folder.
Thus, each instance will use its own DVB card (you have to configure them properly).

Re: Multi recorder suggestion
Thank you, Yes I am aware of that solution.
However, if I get a four tuner card (which is quite likely), I do not really want four versions of DVBdream to maintain, updating the channel list will become a real pain!
Having a single program folder with multiple versions of DD would mean only one to maintain and give the ability to run multiple recordings.
It's only a suggestion for a fairly simple solution.

Re: Multi recorder suggestion
There is an option in the configuration for specifying the path of the channel list file and also an option for making the channel list read only.
I presume that this is intended to allow multiple copies of DD to share a channel list.

Re: Multi recorder suggestion
Yes, that would certainly make life easier, thank you for that.
But I still think having four installations of DD to use a four tuner card is a bit over the top.
Many people use the command line interface, either by using the scheduler or (like me) by having another program to control it.
My suggestion was just one option, adding /tuner=n to the command line would be another.
Certainly life could (and should) be made a lot easier for people who, having purchased a tuner card and found this product on the install CD, then have to pay for the ability to record.
I have no problem with that, but I first used DD back in 2011 and I think the ability to record more than a single channel should have been fixed a long time ago. This forum is full of posts asking this question. So why not fix it?

Re: Multi recorder suggestion
Well I don't disagree with you about that, I have lnb's for 28.2 and 19.2 and it would be nice if I could switch between the two without restarting DVBDream.
