support for multiple partially overlaping recordings

Hi Im latly often recording channels (same TP single tuner card) that start with overlaping ie
First one starts at 12:00 am ends at 14 pm
the second one starts 13:45 pm and ends at 16 pm

The problem is as far as I know only possibility for now is to start recording both channels at 12am and end at 16pm wich is somewhat problematic with HD channels
Recordings are huge in size and there are fiew tools capable of cutting them
(actually found one that cuts those ts files quite reliable and without recoding)

so making it possible to start the second recording in example in PIP2 without interrupting the recording that is already runing in ie PIP1 would be superb.

I second this request.

It's a common scenario to record programmes from the same transponder with overlapping times. For now the only way is to record the total time of both programmes and edit out the stuff you don't want - takes time and disk space (sometimes lots of disk space).

You can do it interactively by using PIP and then recording that. But to do so via schedule would be the killer feature that's missing for me.

Clearly I've no idea how complex it would be as I'm not a programmer, so perhaps we're being naive in asking...

Is there any view as to whether this functionality will be implemented?
I make great use of this on my 2 VU+Duo receivers as this works fine for Enigma2 based units, but it would be useful to do this as well in DVBDream.

It will need some changes that would probably bring stability issues /bugs to scheduler in later versions could be added. there are still lots of to-do
