1.3c - Can't select audio channel (right, left or both)

Postby archaeus » Wed Dec 27, 2006 6:53 am

Hi.

There are some TV channels on Hispasat (30.0° W), which have 2 audios in the same Audio PID: (right audio channel for one language, and left audio channel for another language).

I right-click on the TV channel's name, then click on Channel Properties, and on the Audio box I notice the Channel combo-box is set to Both and disabled. This way I can't choose Right nor Left channel. This applies to all TV channels.

I tried changing the audio codec, but the problem remains.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong (settings, etc.)?

Yes. Same issue with TSR on Hotbird (13.0° E).
TSR1 has two languages on the same Audio PID (85). Left audio channel = french language / Right audio channel = original language.
I can hear both languages at the same time.

On TSR1 if you select PID 84 - fra you only have French but if you select PID 85 - eng you have French at left channel and Original Language at right channel and no way to select Left or Right channel.

I don't remember about such issue in previous version.

We'll have to wait till Rel comes back.

It's a known bug, quite old...

You can try ffdshow (audio) codec, Volume or/and Mixer options.

I tried it, and it works by silencing one audio channel (left or right channel) on the Volume option.

However EuroNews (Astra 1 & Hotbird) doesn't have sound (in all Audio PID's) with ffdshow audio codec, while all the other TV channels have sound.
I mostly watch EuroNews, so I can't have the ffdshow audio codec selected in DVB Dream.

Thanks anyway for your help. :)

I hope DVB Dream programmers correct this bug anytime soon, *if it's possible*.
I would like to select audio channels within DVB Dream, without using/changing the options on ffdshow codec, because of the reason I stated above in this topic.
Thank you for your great work so far.

But I have no problems with any audio on EuroNews (Astra) with ffdshow, try the latest version.

I've tried it and the same issue happens. However, this time I noticed it isn't just EuroNews that becomes mute with ffdshow; some other random channels (with only one or more Audio PID's) become mute too, while the rest have sound.

It's not that important after all. The channels with two languages in the same audio PID I want to watch aren't many. Just less than a handful of them.

Thanks anyway. :)
I'll wait for this bug to be corrected. If it won't, no harm done.
