As I'm new to DVBDream; this is my 1st post.

I installed the patch and still cannot record uisng .mpg format.
It records in .ts even after re-starting the application.
.ts work fine but, I can view the file in Power DVD ultra, but Media Player and VLC fail.

Scheduled recording using dvbepg does not work.
Can anybody help?

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate

Hi chilli,

I'm using Vista Premium. I don't have any problem with records in mpg. They play fine in Windows Mediaplayer.

If you have UAC on, switch it off and try again.

Hi Pummelchen:

Yup
UAC is disabled and recordings still show up as .ts file even when configured as .mpg.
The .ts file will not play so I changed the recording settings back to .ts and now the .ts recording file will play again.

When I clicked on Help about, the version was 1.4i p1

hi

this patch has been integrated to v1.4i setup package last week (it should have "p1" in window title = "v1.4i p1")

if you think you have downloaded the first "v1.4i", you can still patch it using this patch or re-dowload it.

I downloaded both last Saturday and not knowing use the patch on top of the 1.4i installation.
In any event, I still cannot reord in .mpg format. But let me be clear, so far, I only tried h.264 channels like hdppv.

I un-install my current version of 1.4i, nd deleted the installation directorry.

After that, I re-downloaded the new 1.4i executable and re-install it.
Help about showed me the correct patched version v1.4i p1

During the installation, I selected Mpeg for recording format, but after my 1st recording, the dormat was .ts and not playable. :cry:

I changed the fopmat back to .ts and it recorded and played fine. 8)

Is there something that I am doing wrong that is preventing me from recording in mpeg format?

PS
I am using Windows VISTA Ultimate with UAC turned off and login as Administrator.

I appreciate all the help that I can get and thanking you in advance for a prompt reply.

@chilli

Did you install DD in the Program files folder or at the top level of your HD?

The Program folder under Vista has limited permissions, also when you logged on as Administrator and UAC is off.
