Old Schedule Bug

Postby reason » Thu Apr 29, 2010 4:18 am

When changing channel, DD starts recording. It happens when DD is started for a schedule event and the recording is cancelled.

Azurewave 1027 dvbs, bda capture driver ver 1.0.2.9 (9/6/2006), tuner driver ver 1.0.3.4 (4/28/2008).

Not really a bug :), but strange behavior don't you think? I use the scheduler a lot for runs (and reruns in case something wrong happens) and many times I cancel the recording to watch another channel but I have to restart DD in order to stop it from recording other channels. A little annoying. Also if other recording events start before DD is closed, DD immediately cancels the new events and leaves only 188 byte files. A problem if the events overlap by a minute or so. I lost many recordings because of this problem.

I did some tests but cant reproduce any problem here.

Please give me exact steps to see / reproduce the problem

i can confirm this with 1.5
if the sheduler succesfuly starts a recording and You manually stop it
then swich channels DD starts to record on the new channel
only solution is to restart DD
as for that problem with next sheduled recording i can confirm that too
if the sheduled recording is runung when another sheduled recording is started the new recording has quite large chance of failing
same if first sheduled recording is interrupted (stopped manually with DD left running on same or different channel) then second sheduled recording will most probably fail

hope this is clear enough

The problem started with patch 1 of DD 1.4:
Add two schedule events from two different channels and then close DD.
Start one event from windows tasks scheduler.
After DD starts, cancel the recording and change to other channels (it should starts recording every changed channel).
Now start the other channel event (it should cancel the recording immediately leaving 188 (or so) bytes files).

Remember to close DD first before starting the event from Windows Scheduled Tasks.

can't reproduce,
somehow might have been fixed or problem because of plugins / scrambled channels (!)
