Tuning with TwinHan VP-1030 and DD 1.1g is more stable, but get less channels because DD found a lot of transponders without signal.

The same transponder.ini file used with DD 1.1f get more channels.

I still have the same issue with DD Beta 1.2 !

I've tested this new version with my two DVB-S cards (PCTV Sat & Twinhan DTV-CI)

Same wire, same LNBs, same settings, I've made a scan on LNB A (Astra 19.2° E) on my PCTV Sat and then on my Twinhan :

PCTV Sat => only seven transponders on 72 without signal and 1188 channels found

Twinhan (VP 1030A) => only three transponders on 72 with signal and only 50 channels found

My Twinhan works very well with other software (Vision DTV - DVBViewer Pro - AltDVB - etc...)

I surrender no way of getting DD scan's running fine with my VP1030A. I've tried all available DD settings and options (devices options - DiseqC settings and modes - etc...), but i've not succeeded in making the scan feature of DD working fine with this card.

I think this issue comes from the Twinhan DiseqC functions in DD, because I've tried several other softwares (AltDVB - RitzDVB - DVBViewer Pro - WinSTB - and so on...) that are running very fine, and DD works very fine with my PCTV Sat.

Does anyone succeeded in using a VP1030A wired to a 1.0/2.0 DiseqC switch ?

OK I've finally succeeded in making a more accurate scan (but it is very slow to make a full satellite scan because I had to enter a 500 ms scan delay in order to make it works conveniently)

But now DD freeze when I start it, and sometimes the only way to get rid of it is to reset the computer. Even the taskmanager does not succeed in closing the application althought the waittokill setting of the Windows Registry originaly set to 20000ms has been modified to 1000ms.

So I gonna keep on using the fabulous (but not freeware) DVBViewer Pro with my Twinhan... And DD with my old PCTV Sat.

Another complete freeze of my PC... So I have to declare that DD 1.1 and 1.2 are not fully compatible with my Twinhan VP1030A

hi Fred, 1030a was working fine with v1.x durin my test, I dont have the card on my PC right now but I cant reproduce with my 1020a (I use it almost everyday, it works just fine)

I will try to test 1030a until weekend to see if there is a problem specific to that Twinhan model.

Perhaps this issue is a particular consequence of the collective satellite installation I use (see in my profile).

I'll try to find someone in my nearby wich use a more common installation (only LNB A and LNB B with just a DiseqC switch).

NB : This new version works very fine with my old PCTV Sat, thanks to you and to Leonid for this.

I haven't had a chance to use 1.2 final yet.
And I don't have the 1030, but with my 1020a DD is working well. It runs much faster than earlier versions using DVBCore.

I've had issues scanning certain satellites. I cannot see the one you are looking at from my part of the world. However, I have had to make changes in the past to scan delay time for a scan to work properly. I will often get "NAMELESS" for every channel in the mux on a given transponder while the rest are fine. Rescanning usually takes care of the problem. You may want to experiment with some of the time settings.

It seems very strange indeed, this card works very fine with other softwares (tested with AltDVB, RitzDVB, DVBViewer Pro and also this old tricky WinSTB) and the same DiseqC system.

Also my PCTV Sat works very fine with DD 1.2 and the same DiseqC system... So I really don't understand what the real problem is.

No matter, some VP1030A users told me that DD 1.2 runs fine on their PC and I usually use DVBViewer Pro with this card. I actually don't have enough time to go on testing DD 1.2 with this card (I'm still going on testing with my PCTV Sat) but I'll give you more information when I'll find enough time to do so.

it should work better with SDK or BDA device now in v1.3
