- There is no "auto mode" for aspect ratio in 1.3c. Adjustment "by hand" is required when aspect changes
- In 1.3b the strech mode acts as "auto mode" and was OK
- My screen has 16:10 ratio

(Reference: DBV-Viewer Pro/GE: no problems at this point)

Hmm.. do you mean all channels have wrong AR, or just 16:9 AR is not chaged automatically? Could you try other renderer - VMR9 /Overlay?

Dreamer,

Thank you: selecting "overlay video renderer" seems to fix this !

You're welcome.

So AR was wrong on all channels, or just 16:9 ones?

Dreamer,

The AR is wrong on both 4:3 and 16:9 channels when "overlay video renderer" is not selected.
BTW: video codec is NVIDIA, mode "content default"

Thanks, you could try other codec, I'm using 4:3 CRT and AR is not changed automatically on 16:9 channels with nVidia codec (and few other codecs). With ATI/InterVideo and Overlay renderer it is changed automatically. So perhpas it's similar issue of nVidia codec, other codecs might work also with VMR/VMR9, but I'm not sure about that.

Most video codecs have settings for auto-adjustement, some of them works fine only in Overlay mode, so try to look for such settings in your own codecs.

It was working good with ATI and InterVideo in previous versions - with Overlay and VMR9 renderer, in few last versions it works automatically only with Overlay renderer. There are no settings for ATI/InterVideo codecs. Other codecs (not all, jest few tested) doesn't work at all (I mean auto-AR detection), I could try to find settings there, but I don't think it will be working with VMR9 renderer.

No auto correction of the AR with either 16/9 or 4/3, using either Intervideo or Cyberlink codecs, and using either VMR, VMR9--haven't tried the overlay as it uses to much CPU on HD.

I have not changed any codecs or drivers since before I was using the previous version which worked perfectly in this regard. The problem started when I installed the 1.3c version of DVBDream. I have been using DVBDream since GenPix support was added. This is an issue for me when switching between SD and HD channels.

Thanks, and I hope this can be corrected.

It's a known bug with VMR9, it work good with Overlay renderer, you can use older version or try other codec and overlay renderer, since...

auto-aspect ratio will be handled as a "feature request", later
