Custom keyboard shortcuts:

Not implemented yet, but you can use HotkeyP (freeware) as workaround. Read HotkeyP Help for more information.

Guide - how to make new commands in HotkeyP for DVB Dream:

1. Go to menu > Hotkey > and select Insert new.
2. Press a new key / shortcut, e.g. R
3. In Command field type Keys to active window, or choose it from [<] button menu.
4. In Parameters field type \f4 dvbdream.exe&(Tfmain|ftvwindow|fvideo|TfPIP)
5. Press Enter or use OK button to confirm.
6. For additional commands go to menu > Hotkey > select Duplicate and repeat steps 2 - 5, just change a hotkey - R and action - \f4, more in DVB Dream menu, Help and HotkeyP Help.

Global keyboard shortcuts:

Not implemented yet, but you can use HotkeyP (freeware) as workaround. Read HotkeyP Help for more information.

Guide - how to make new commands in HotkeyP for DVB Dream:

1. Go to menu > Hotkey > and select Insert new.
2. Press a new shortcut, e.g. Ctrl+Shift+R
3. In Command field type Send keys to window, or choose it from [<] button menu.
4. In Parameters field type \f4 dvbdream.exe
5. Press Enter or use OK button to confirm.
6. For additional commands go to menu > Hotkey > select Duplicate and repeat steps 2 - 5, just change a hotkey - Ctrl+Shift+R and action - \f4, more in DVB Dream menu, Help and HotkeyP Help.

Remote control:

- Installation for SkyStar2, AirStar & Cable Star
- Please download WinLIRC setup package first (from DVB Dream Homepage)
- When installation is completed, double click on the WinLIRC icon at tray
- Click on "Reconfigure" button to see Configuration dialog
- Click on "Browse button" to specify B2C2 remote configuration file
- Select b2c2.def (c:\dvbdream\winlirc\b2c2.cf) and click on OK
- Start Dvb Dream and open Remote options
- (Main Menu->Options->Remote->Options)
- Then select "WinLIRC" as remote type and close the window
- Now you are ready to use your B2C2 remote in DD !

Another way is to use HotkeyP (freeware) and WinLIRC (freeware) and supported remote control. It is possible to make an action to start DVB Dream in this way. Read HotkeyP and WinLIRC Help for more information.

Guide - how to make new commands in HotkeyP for DVB Dream:

1. Download, install, run and set up WinLIRC.
2. In HotkeyP, go to menu > Window > select Options, Remote tab and enable and set up WinLIRC.
3. Go to menu > Hotkey > and select Insert new.
4. Press a new button, e.g. Record
5. In Command field type Send keys to window, or choose it from [<] button menu.
6. In Parameters field type \f4 dvbdream.exe
7. Press Enter or use OK button to confirm.
8. For additional commands go to menu > Hotkey > select Duplicate and repeat steps 4 - 7, just change a hotkey/button - Record and action - \f4, more in DVB Dream menu, Help, HotkeyP Help and WinLIRC Help.

Notes:

- Global keyboard shortcuts will work also if DVB Dream window is not active!
- You can use also keyboard shortcuts or buttons to Insert new commands, Duplicate, Edit or Delete (not all buttons are enabled by default) in HotkeyP.
- If you have any problem or question, ask here, but please read HotkeyP (and WinLIRC) Help first.

Remote control support:

Not implemented yet, but you can use a program HotkeyP (freeware) and WinLIRC (freeware) as workaround. You can use only existing keyboard shortcuts as actions there for now. Read HotkeyP and WinLIRC Help for more information.

WinLIRC seems to work only for remote control on COM port, not USB port. So, my twinhan remote control is useless.

Is anyone knows another program that can grab signal from USB port ??

Thanks

It will be possible to change any "normal" (non-global) keyboard shortcuts in DVB Dream. I'm just testing new non-public version and it works good. It works on main, tv window, fullscreen and any PIP window, so that if you click to PIP 2 for example, you can control volume with custom shortcut only for that window. You can also change e.g. Record hotkey to <R> and you will be still able to rename channel in ch. name properties dialog. You'll be able to use also existing shortcuts - replace them.

It doesn't work good in the latest public version. I'll post here any new information and some instructions how to configure it, it's easy, just make one command (copy 2 lines that will be also here) and then just copy and change original and new shortcut.

First post has been completely rewritten - guide for HotkeyP has been added.

Most important change - now it's possible to change any DVB Dream hotkey / shortcut by HotkeyP, more above!

Edit: it works in HotkeyP v4.2 (and above).

I'm Using a Usb-Uirt with a regular universal remote. It works great with girder 3. I was wondering if there is a keyboard key to fullscreen the video in dvbdream?

There is just F5 to switch between standard mode / fullscreen /tv window AFAIK. Also a mouse double click to switch between fullscreen / standard mode. It's possible to simulate it in HotkeyP, don't know if also Girder can do it, but these Window class parameters might be useful:

Tfmain
ftvwindow
fvideo
TfPIP

Are you using HotkeyP? If so, try the Help, section Macro.

Numpad + = \add
Numpad - = \subtract

Hi, I've been using MyTheater / DVBEPG / Twinhan 102G (BDA Drivers) for 3 years until my card fried.

I'm thinking of switching to DVBDream / DVBEPG / Skywalker - 1 if this is possible...

If I use WinLIRC or HotkeyP, is it possible to change channels while someone else is using the computer browsing the net?

I have 2 displays connected to my video card and I extend my desktop to display 2 for watching TV. If the wife uses the PC on display 1 and the DVB program is not "the active window", I have to ask her to click on it while I channel surf. I'd like to know if its possible to use these remote programs in order to change channels while the PC is in use which would fix my problem.

Otherwise I'm thinking about getting a receiver, but I'd miss my DVB.

Thanks.

As I said in the other topic, "Universal remote" must be supported by WinLIRC, then it should be working the way you want.
