This is a known prob - also with Nova-S2.
Seems to depend on the driver(s) which may be not as compatible to BDA as they should do.
If anybody has a solution... let me know !

this is no problem with the driver, DvbViewer scan all HD-S2 with the driver.
with the follow - it is possible to scan HD-S2

@rel
maybe rel can it possible??

AFAIK DVB-S2 and the dependent settings / constants are not yet defined in MS DirectShow SDK-headers.

Where do you got those definitions from ?
E.g. in according to the MS-headers these consts are not defined and must be a creation of Hauppoauge:
"DTV_BDA_BCC_RATE_8_9"=dword:00000108
"DTV_BDA_BCC_RATE_9_10"=dword:00000109
"DTV_BDA_MOD_8PSK"=dword:0000001b

The value for 8PSK is defined as BDA_MOD_MAX there.
I tried to test seceral values with my TwinHan 1041 - this wont work.
But it can work with Hauppauge ?!

I can change the interface a little bit to load specific values to set these params.

this defination is from PowerCinema Registry,

for Premiere HD the
"DTV_BDA_MOD_NBC_QPSK"=dword:00000015
is ok

what is the difference between DTV_BDA_MOD_NBC_QPSK and DTV_BDA_MOD_8PSK?

isn't the transponder (which broadcasts the PremiereHD) 8PSK ?

NBC_QPSK ?? = QPSK or 8PSK or ?

PremiereHD - QPSK - 0,35Roll - Pilot Symbols off

I assume these values will be set for BDA-initialisation and will be written to the registry under section 'TuningSpaces'.

Either you can read the definitions of those constants in the dependet MS SDK-headers or also the exact 1:1 translation for Delphi: DirectShow9.pas in the DSPack 2.3.4

DTV_BDA_MOD_NBC_QPSK with a value of 15 must be the same as BDA_MOD_512QAM - which is normally used for DVB-C.

A modulation type like 8PSK isn't defined anywhere !
I use BDA_MOD_8VSB (23) - that works fine with several cards.

I Hauppauge needs other values and/or setting up the BDA, the simliest way would be that Hauppauge simply tell that to the proggers...

... and everbody tell to set Roll-Off to 0,35 and Pilot off or on.
Where the hell are those params to be set ????
I read nearly all of MS documention in the msdn - but nowhere those params are to be found.
Must be something tricky and secret ???!!!

yes i can confirm too. with my Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2 no hd channels are found on scan with dvbdream !!
in dvbviewer its possible to scan for premiere hd but only in version 3.9 pro with activated special option called "new tuning method".

maybe rel can do same for next dvbdream release, this would be great if its possible :D

Progdvb BDA drivers had same problem in past, no diseqc work.

But they solved it in last versions (4.8x) just some weeks ago.

No way to ask him how they solved the diseqc problems?

Any way to solve that bda driver diseqc problem like dvbviewer or progdvb made?

They use also bda drivers.

I see lot of other people with bda cards (not hauppauge) that also have problems with diseqc using bda (videomate/DVBWorld).

If I can help in anything, sending to you logs or registry entries.

Thanks
