Hi,

today I gave DVBDream a chance, and so far I'm impressed.
Nevertheless there is a small bug when do a manual channel-scan; it only allows a frequency in the following format: 730MHz, 530MHz (DVB-T). But in Germany there are channels which have a frequency like 192.5MHz. And that's the problem.
DVBDream only allows 191MHz, but not 191.5MHz.

Would be great, if this will be fixed in any further version.

Yes I know about this and will try and fix it.
I have two DVB-T cards on one it will lock with 191.0 but the other won't.

tx for the quick reply.

I did a workaround......I used the 530MHz channel and manually edited it.
In this case it was possible to enter 191500KHz.

I have the same problem, i have edited one channel but how can i scan it? It always found channel like 194, not 194.5

Hi,

it only works for one of my USB-DVB-T dongles.
As X05 also indicated, the workaroung is depending on the HW you are using....

I think we have to wait until a fix will be released.

Is this problem solved with version 1.4?

I still only get DVB-T channels at even frequencies (177000, but not 177500) with a bandwidth of 8 MHz (not 7 MHz). I live in Berlin, Germany, and there are 7 DVB-T channels which DVB Dream v.1.4 does not find.

Try the new functionnality that permits to use a frequency offset with DVB-T devices.

Have a look at the bottom-right of device selection window in DD 1.4

After some experimentation I did come up with a procedure to make the missing DVB-T channels available for DVBDream, but it is not really automatic. Here is the deal:

First you need a copy of the DVB-T Europe frequency list. Open the folder "dvbdream\Transponders" and open the file "4000.ini" in your editor. Under [SATTYPE] change the first line to "1 = 4002" and in the second line change the title to "DVB-T Europe 2". Save the file as "4002.ini".

Now start DVBDream and go to "Options -> Frequency List". Add the new "DVB-T Europe 2" file and under "Properties" set the bandwidth to 7Mhz.

Go to "Options -> Device", select the BDA Native device and set the offset to 500 (the dropdown list only contains 166 and 167, you have to enter 500 manually). Press "Start", then "OK".

Now open "Channels -> Scan" for a new scan. Remember to select the new "DVB-T Europe 2" frequency list before starting the scan process.

The missing channels should now be found. They appear as a new satellite under -40.2°W.

For every new found channel you now have to rightclick the channel, select "Channel Properties" and add the value 500 to the frequency (Example: The frequency entry for WDR 3 is 177000. Change the entry to 177500). Do this for all new channels and click "OK".

In the last step we have to reset the BDA device. Open "Options -> Device" again, select "BDA Native" and reset the offset to 0. Press "Start", then "OK"

That's it. I only did this for the video channels, for radio it should work the same way. Now I got 30 DVB-T video channels instead of only 23 here in Berlin. Cool...

I'm from Italy, but I guess that the frequencies should be just the same as in most of the other european countries...

Based on that page I created a trasponder file for the VHF channels (which have 7 MHz bandwidth):


And here's a trasponder file for the remaining UHF channels (with 8 MHz bandwidth):

Version 1.4a does solve half of the problem:

The scanning process now detects the DVB-T channels at uneven frequencies like 177500, but only at one bandwidth at a time. This means that I still have to add two identical frequency list (just with a different name) and specify 8Mhz for the first list and 7Mhz for the second one.

Then I have to do two consecutive scans using these two frequency lists one after the other. I would call that "Semi-Automatic"

To make it fully automatic DVBDream would have to be able to scan using 7Mhz and 8Mhz bandwidths with one frequency list at the same time.

hello world, my first post here.
i live in Italy and i'm using DVBDream 1.4i with a "Pinnacle PCTV DVB-T Flash stick 280e" tuner.
(it's a BDA mod7700 based USB tuner. DVBDream says :version 2.0 interface 2.1)

Now, Pinnacle software was incredibly bad: it ALWAYS gave imperfect tuning and with ALL channels.
(with pinnacle software i never see 100% signal quality, so mpeg2 video is very "blocky")

Instead, dvbdream 1.4i works well: Always "100% quality". with ALL channels. No blockiness, no skipped frames.

BUT
i have problems with vhf channels (in particular 186 and 194,5 Mhz, 7Mhz BW, Horiz)
DVBDream does not see anything on these frequencies. While Pinnacle software finds (and can use) lots of channels there.

i did lots of scans, always with the same results.
i tried two different mod7700.sys driver versions (the latest 3.7.0.0.1 and the old 3.6.0.0)
any suggestion?
