For better underestanding your recording problem you should recognize expression "bitrate". Some channels are broadcasting with bitrate 2500kbps (for example) and others with 3400kbps (f.ex.). The amount of bytes per second divide by 8 gives you space occuped on your hard disk per 1 second of record...

Forgive me my english :) DD is my favourite tv-sat application but after i changed my old Skystar2 on Technisat Skystar HD (DVB-S2) the problems starts to appearing. If you want to record a TS stream and you have high CPU usage - try to switch to renderless mode (ctrl+k) .
