Are you sure it is always that way. On my system a step appears to be about 1/120 of a degree. If I am on one of the strong circular birds I can easilly move 60 steps and still have a signal (wich I doubt you could do if 60 steps equaled 6 degrees). In the positioner dialog you can drive a motor in multiples of seconds or steps. How much is a step and how much is a second?
