Update for DVB-T channels in Berlin, Germany: A few days ago the channel assignment got changed here in Berlin, and for the better this time. All channels now have a bandwidth of 8 MHz, there is no need anymore to use two different ini files to tune to all available channels. Just use a consolidated...

Followup

Here is the BDA log file which shows how I first tune to a UHF station with 8 MHz bandwidth and then to a VHF station with 7 MHz bandwidth.

BDA driver issues with Pinnacle Dual DVB-T diversity stick

After exchanging my Pinnacle 200e DVB-T USB box for a Pinnacle 2001e Dual DVB-T diversity stick DD's BDA driver cannot tune to the VHF channels with 7 MHz bandwidth any more. All the channels with 8 MHz bandwidth work fine, but it looks like the bandwidth setting is not passed to the tuner. If I do ...

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it right now. Here in Germany we got the same problem, and I also have to use 2 different .ini files. Rel promised to fix this issue, but this was a long time ago...

You have to use "Dreamstart.exe" instead of "DVBDream.exe" as your target. "Start in" should be your DVBDream folder.

i have problems with vhf channels (in particular 186 and 194,5 Mhz, 7Mhz BW, Horiz) You did not say which transponder list you are using, so I assume that you use "DVB-T Europe" (4000.ini) or "DVB-T Berlin" (4002.ini). The two frequencies you mention are not in these lists, so you should edit one o...

scrambled channels ? maybe plugin playing up ? No, I got the same problem with no plugins installed whatsoever. No scrambled channels either (DVB-T). It is not only TS recordings, the same happens with MPG. So far the only workaround for me is to have DD open while waiting for the recording to star...

Problems with new BDA driver in 1.4i

It seems like the new BDA driver in version 1.4i has problems with a lot of DVB-T tuners. My Pinnacle PCTV 200e also does not work with it. But there is an easy solution: Just use the old BDA device from 1.4h. You can either overwrite the file BDA.DEV in the "Devices" folder with the one from 1.4h, ...

Internal EPG

Starting from version 1.4 the internal EPG has the (much needed) option to add an EPG entry to the scheduler. Under "Preferences -> General -> Other" you can also enter a value for "Scheduler extra time - Before" and "-After". This is very nice, but IMO the logic for "-Before" is not correct. Exampl...

Wow! Right on the money! Thank you so much!

With the new rec_mng.dll my CPU load now is exactly the same for TS mode as it is for MPG mode. And I did not find any problems with the recorded TS stream.

Thanks again

CPU Load while recording in renderless mode

My computer is too slow to record while watching the video, but recording in renderless mode works just fine. I am just curious why the CPU load is much higher when recording to TS than when recording to MPEG. When I record to MPEG I consistently get a CPU load between 10% and 15%. Recording to TS g...

Version 1.4a does solve half of the problem: The scanning process now detects the DVB-T channels at uneven frequencies like 177500, but only at one bandwidth at a time. This means that I still have to add two identical frequency list (just with a different name) and specify 8Mhz for the first list a...

Thanks FredB for the tip. After some experimentation I did come up with a procedure to make the missing DVB-T channels available for DVBDream, but it is not really automatic. Here is the deal: First you need a copy of the DVB-T Europe frequency list. Open the folder "dvbdream\Transponders" and open ...
