Can anyone recommend a program that removes un-wanted portions of .ts files (h.264 format)? :? Thanks for your prompt reply.
Now I understand why DD records h.264 files in the .ts format.

I downloaded mpeg2repair and fixed the .ts file.
I can now play it with Windows Media Player.

It seems the non h.264 channels record mpg but the h.264 only record .ts.

Is this a bug or the nature of the h.264 file structure that lends itself to only use .ts file?

I am trying to record in mpg format but it seems to be stuck in ts format? I am using the latest version "i".

I have the exact same issue using Vista Ultimate with UAC turned off.
I have only tried to record h.264 channels.

Yup
UAC is disabled and recordings still show up as .ts file even when configured as .mpg.
The .ts file will not play so I changed the recording settings back to .ts and now the .ts recording file will play again.

When I clicked on Help about, the version was 1.4i p1
