That is interesting! Say, do you think a 8600GT with it's "purevideo hd" hardware support is good enough for a AMD 3800+ X2 ? I ask simply because I have the system available. Also I just wanted to mention that HD for me is stuttering using the PureVideo decoder with a 7950GT and x2 4800+, with both...

Please share your most stable HW/SW configuration:
I'm planning on setting up a new system with a 3800 x2 based computer, starting from scratch. I was wondering if you guys could post up your hardware and software (codec) settings that are the most stable (meaning, no crashes when going between mpeg2 and mpeg4/h264 channels, and no need to change co...

Positioner "Seconds" is not right.
ok -- 1 arcsecond is 1/3600 of a degree. I don't know how many degrees is in 1 "step" in the positioner console, but I would expect it to be much less. In any case, I have a powertech dg280 motor. moving 1 second is more than one degree in my observations. For example, moving 1 second west of 99 W i...

Need option for which monitor it opens on
A checkbox that lets you decide if the app opens to the same monitor it previously was opened on would be nice. If I have the TV off, I don't want to let it warm up just so I can drag the window back to the computer monitor. Similarly, if I disable the 2nd display, the app should open to the primary...

Drops out of renderless mode if incompatibilty
The app drops out of renderless mode if you select a combo of codecs that does not work together and then click OK or Apply. If you select a good combo, then click OK or Apply, it does not drop out automatically. This is bad because if you're sitting there trying to find something that works, droppi...

just when I thought I had it working.. it just crashed the first time it rendered a channel, and the channel happened to be mpg2. I can't find much consistency. this is a lot more frustrating that I was expecting.. now I can't get that combo to work for SD (I start dream, hit control-K almost immedi...

Crashes on channel changes (mpg4/h264 -> mpg2, and vice v
I have not found a stable combination of codecs yet that allows me to switch between mpg2 and mpg4/h264 without crashing. The most stable so far is: DScaler v0.0.6.0 2/26/2005 Purevideo v4020.223.0.0 5/5/2006 renderer 9 CoreAVC 1.6.5.0 1/30/2008 I am able to switch back and forth between SD and HD w...

I finally got purevideo (I was surprised this wasn't just part of the nvidia drivers -- requires serial and everything!) solved all my problems. One quirk people might not be aware of is that if you don't have an h264 codec installed, and if one is required for the channel you are watching, Dream wi...
