Transponder Names

Postby chputney » Thu May 10, 2012 8:09 am

I am trying to understand how sites such as lyngsat show a transponder identification. For example Astra 28E 10714H is identified as "tp 41" and Hotbird 13E 10719V is identified as "tp 110". Is this contained in the ts stream? What table and descriptor contain this information ? Also, these names don't seem to agree (for Astra anyway) with the SES list attached.

I checked the pdf file you attached, and on page 3 (Astra 2 sat at 28.2E) 10714MHz transponder is numbered as tp41 (2.041 means TP #41 on Astra 2 satellite).
So ... I don't think that Lyngsat is wrong here.
