Twinhan and Cascaded Diseqc
Moderators:X05, Dreamer, FredB
I have a cascaded diseqc configuration using a uncommited Spaun SUR-420 and Dishpro Swiches/LNB's. It works fine in MT but I can't get it working in DVBDream. I've tried every form of raw diseqc commands to get it working. I have a feeling the application isn't sending the proper raw commands I'm typing in. How can I debug this?

Post your raw commands please? Rocket (I got your PM)
Here are the standard Committed and Uncommitted raw commands;
Committed lnb1 raw command E0 10 38 F0
Committed lnb2 raw command E0 10 38 F4
Committed lnb3 raw command E0 10 38 F8
Committed lnb4 raw command E0 10 38 FC
Uncommitted lnb1 raw command E0 10 39 F0
Uncommitted lnb2 raw command E0 10 39 F1
Uncommitted lnb3 raw command E0 10 39 F2
Uncommitted lnb4 raw command E0 10 39 F3
Please list exactly what you are selecting in Mytheatre for it to work.
The format for the raw command is E0 10 39 F0 E0 10 38 F0
no comas, wait times "W244" or brackets[] just the two commands.

In MT I select Uncommitted lnb1 as primary then Committed lnb1 or Committed lnb2 as secondary. In expert settings I changed the address from 10 to 11 and added the repeat command. I see DVBDream send the secondary diseqc command twice and thats what it should do but the right LNB doesn't still switch. I have tried both BDA and direct drivers...
The raw command I would send would be:
E0 10 39 F0 E0 11 38 F0 for example for Commited LNB1 on Uncommited Port 1. I also tried the following as secondary commands E1 10 38 F0, E1 11 38 F0, E0 10 38 F0 along with tons more commands. There raw commands work fine in VDR as well. Just wanted to say that as well. I think there is an application or windows driver problem with the way the diseqc commands are sent.
I also have a nova card but technotrends developers did not add support for bandstacked LNBs on the BDA drivers so I can't test that. In MT on my Twinhan's (I have a 102G and 1020a) switching works fine with both BDA and Direct drivers.

Under diseqc menu
For diseqc switch select "None"
Then list your satellites, they will show under port "1", but just disregard the port "1" part.
Add your raw commands, but this time try repeating each command twice.
E0 10 39 F0 E0 10 39 F0 E0 11 38 F0 E0 11 38 F0
Try to just troubleshoot one item at a time, like controlling the Spaun 420 with the Twinhan and Dvbdream. After that move to controlling the second set of switches.

Can you get access to a Skystar2 card and try that card? The Skystar2 has a much cleaner diseqc signal when compared to the twinhan's.Still no luck I think for sure now this is a DVBDream bug in the diseqc code... Then agian it could be a Twinhan driver bug as DD probably uses Twinhan driver diseqc calls.
