general info to solve EPG

I'm trying to figure out what should be in each folder and if anything is duplicated in each/any folder so everything works correctly. Eventually, I hope to solve misc. issues particularly my EPG when I change channels then go back to EPG it won't hold to the previous channel. Can anyone steer me into a direction?, thanks.
