DP 500 Config with Twinhan

Postby kschaef65 » Sun Apr 15, 2007 1:22 pm

It appears that while using Twinhan BDA drivers there is no way to receive high-definition channels which are broadcast using Turbo-FEC 8SPK. Is there any workaround for this -- using Twinhan direct drivers, etc? I heard that MyTheater may do it -- is that because of the direct drivers?

Next question, it also seems as though the Diseq switch issue is completely ignored by the drivers. I receive duplicate channels when scanning birds 110 and 119. I know that the channels are officially only carried by one satellite or the other. Is there a way to separate these two satellites properly by using the 22 kHz tone configuration? I know the DP 500 operates more like it is not on a switch but it is multiplexed using the 22 kHz tone. Can I manually change the frequencies of a particular transponder by adding 22,000? I haven't been able to figure that out. Could this also be something that is ignored by the BDA drivers?

A related issue seems to be that I cannot find certain channels. A good example is trying to add FSTV from bird 110. I have the proper frequency for the transponder and parameters and it does not find it. It does find some channels that are not supposed to be on that transponder so I suspect that my problem has something to do with the 22 kHz tone multiplexing thing.

I have spent a lot of time researching this on these boards and others. I would only ask for help after putting in my due diligence. Any direction appreciated. Thank you.

Getting Closer with DishPro 500

Postby kschaef65 » Mon Apr 16, 2007 6:10 pm

I don't have both satellite 110 and 119 working but I'm getting closer. I thought I would post this here so that others may benefit from my hard lessons.

It seems as though I should set my Diseq switch settings to two same port with none selected for the switch type. In the properties of the satellite under the switch settings I have chosen "NA bandstacked DP Ku-Hi" and then under 22 kHz tab choose "on" for one satellite or the other. I have chosen on and off for set 119 and it still receives the programming no matter how it is set. I am really trying to find out how to get satellite 110 which I have not been able to truly stand for its channels.

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

I have a dishpro setup but i have a dp34 switch in my but for the disq seting I just chose the DP lnb like you then assigned port 1 and port 2 to the correct satalites (birds) and then did my auto scan.. all the rest of the setting i just left default.

A Couple Questions for Clarification

Postby kschaef65 » Fri May 04, 2007 5:05 am

Are you using the BDA drivers?
Is your card a 1020A or a 102G?
Did you configure anything on the 22 kHz tone switch tab?
