Twinhan 1025 Sat scanning?

I just got a new Twinhan 1025 and wanted to try DVBDream, I installed the BDA driver from the twinhan website, but unable to scan 119 (Echostar 7). Works fine in MyTheatre I think i need to use the WDM drivers but how do I select them? Do I use the ones included with Mytheatre? Windows just says the BDA drivers are the best fit when I try to update the driver, im using windows xp, thanks.

Got the WDM driver installed, but still no signal. I can scan in MyTheatre. Any ideas?

Exactly my situation. Brand new Twinhan 1025, THBDA drivers on W2K, Twinhan DigitalTV 3.3, and DVBDream all installed without error but yield the same result. Trying any and all switch settings and any Echostar satellite results in scanning. But all transponders show zero signal strength.

Does DigitalTV work for you? (I'll have to try MyTheatre...) I even hooked up a Dish 111 before the 1025, did a "check switch" which found all my sats and verified cabling, and then hooked it up to the 1025. Still nothing. Hooked up the Dish 111 to the LNB OUT port on the 1025, verified signal from 119 still present and passing through 1025. Still nothing!

Indeed as you say, MyTheater works, at least enough to show my 1025 is alive and well. I got only the "vertical" transponders, so I tried the MyTheater SW "DishPro" setting, and broke it completely!

I would much prefer to get DVBdream to work anyhow. I know of one other 1025 owner (Anole on satelliteguys.us) who has gotten DVBdream to work, including bandstacked DishPro LNBs and even (correctly) switching a DP34. So I am hopeful that this is just some sort of configuration problem and a simple fix will get us both going.

I am making modest progress with DVBdream. I can now get it to scan in the channels on half of the available transponders ("vertical" polarization only). All the rest still show "no signal". I got this far by selecting Options --> Diseqc --> Add Satellite --> LNB Type "NA Bandstacked DP Ku-Hi (DBS)". Lof-1 is filled in with 11250000 and Lof-2 is filled in with 14350000. It does not appear that any of the other LNB options apply to my Dish Pro (DP) setup with Echostar satellites at 119/110/61.5.

I know all the transponders are there by plugging in a Dish receiver. The missing transponders are the higher "horizontal" bandstacked frequencies. My Twinhan 1025 supposedly supports frequencies that high. What extra setup am I missing here?

I can reliably switch between my 3 LNBs using my DP34 (diseqc 2.0 switch) just fine with DVBdream. So I would rather not remove that. It's the Dish Pro "bandstacking" that is still giving me grief, despite selecting the LNB type I mentioned above. It seems that DVBdream never changes to the higher frequencies corresponding to the "vertical" polarization.

Note that you can still configure the LNB type even if your Diseqc switch is set to "none". Use the Options --> Diseqc option, leave the switch type set to "none", and Add Satellite to Port 1.

I gave up trying to get DVBdream to scan my bandstacked LNB feed automatically. So I went to the Manual Scan option, changed the frequency on the even-numbered transponders with the following formula: 25600 minus ini-file "horizontal" frequency = band stacked "horizontal" frequency. Then hitting the Scan button finds the channels. Then I save the channels and the "new" transponder, and I'm golden (at least on 119).

Why is scanning channels so painful? I've read reports from other 1025 owners that this used to work c. Nov of last year. What this old world needs is a decent Blind Scanner program with no knobs to twiddle.

If you are running with a DishPro satellite, and have ONLY the Twinhan connected to it, you will run into problems getting the sattelite to scan properly as the card can not provide enough power to the LNB to get it working.

If you connect a DishPro receiver to one of the outputs on the satellite it will power the satwllite and switch and you should be able to get the twinhan to work reliably.

Also, post the rest of the settings you are using, and the twpe of sat dish hardware and cabling configuration you are using.

Works perfectly for me with a Twinhan 102g using the network scan option and the bandstacked settings. See my post above, it may be an issue with not enough power to the switch in the satellite.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Explaining in detail my DVBdream settings are unhelpful since it's not working quite right. What would be really nice is a detailed description of your settings since you apparently know what you are doing. What version of DVBDream are you running? And most importantly what drivers are you using for your 102g?

Anyhow, to cut/paste from above:

I got this far by selecting Options --> Diseqc --> Add Satellite --> LNB Type "NA Bandstacked DP Ku-Hi (DBS)". Lof-1 is filled in with 11250000 and Lof-2 is filled in with 14350000.

I selected Echostar 8,10 for switch port 1, Echostar 7 for switch port 2, and Echostar 3 for switch port 3. After that, doing an automatic scan finds channels on most of the odd numbered transponders, while even numbered transponders yield "No signal!"

My hardware (LNB, satellites, and switch configuration) show up below the line on every one of my posts. I'm pretty sure I do not have a power problem because the DP34 has 3 DP receivers plugged in all the time. Plus manual scanning in DVBdream of the even transponders (with a calculated frequency as noted above) does work. It's just tedious and time consuming. I also got an odd-numbered transponder on 110 working last night by manually entering the FEC and 8PSK, rather than the defaults (Auto and QPSK IIRC). Now I can watch GOLTV (24 hrs of soccer).

The other annoying thing about DVBdream is that, after doing the manual scanning a few times, it loses the ability to see any signal from any channel. Shutting it down and starting it back up again fixes that condition.
