schedules record - choose sound track

Postby mrbatch » Tue Oct 02, 2007 4:00 pm

hi,
when i do a scheduled record and watch with media player classic i always get the original ssoundtrack (often spanish) when i want the english one. i know in full stream module i can get this but can you choose the stream via the scheduled record? how do i specify it or will another layer (vlc??) give me audio soundtrack options?

also this program is very very good - i have used altdb, progdvb and mytheatre and i must say thanks to dreamer for some great software

I claim the transport stream you saved with DD has everything, and your question is really a Media Player Classic question: "How do you change audio program streams in Media Player Classic?" I didn't have a ts file handy, so I just started up a ripped DVD VOB file which I know to have 4 separate AC3 streams in it. I hunted and hunted and could not find how to switch streams in Media Player Classic. Very annoying! Maybe the capability is really there somewhere, but I couldn't find it either.

select "TS" as recording format

then put a tick on "Record all audio pids" checkbox in TS Record options.

You can try VLC instead to switch between audio channels.
DVB Dream - because I have to dream about having time to code it

You can use also MPC! I don't know what exactly it is, but it works. Just record in TS, with option "Record all audio pids" enabled and then open the context menu in MPC > Filters > and the path of file, like this D:\folder\filename... - there is a sub-menu with two audio streams. You have to press stop and play again, audio will be changed then.

Perhaps you'll need to install something, but I don't know what exactly - because there is no name of the filter. At least you know it works also with MPC.

Yes, that does work as you say. Only for my MPC, it's the Play pulldown menu: Play --> Filters --> <filename> --> <stream> I was selecting Play --> Filters --> Audio earlier.
