Choppy video playback with new DVBDream 1.4

Try uninstall of the new DDSOURCE.AX
It uses the same CLSID as the 1.3 version.
Maybe your system will take the 1.4-version first when you start 1.3 ?!

Thanks, will try it ... but... when you uninstall DD, doesn't it unregister and remove ddsource.ax?

I had tha same problem here with nvidia purevideo. I tried powerdvd 8 codecs and i get this error: "Incompatible codec or renderer combination is selected. Graph couldnt be created." when i am trying to activate them. Anyone can help me with this ?

To unregister DDSource.ax :

1/ In DD root folder, make a copy of 'ddreg.bat' file (you can rename it 'ddunreg.bat' for example)

2/ Edit the copy (right-clic - Modify) by removing 'rem' on the first line and removing the second line.

3/ Save changes and run this file.

Here is what you should get in the new batch file :

regsvr32 /u ddsource.ax

or

Code: Select all

regsvr32 /u ddsource.ax /s

(for silent mode)

To register it again, you can run original 'ddreg.bat' file again or just run DD as this file is called by the software at start.

I've tried it, but it didn't change the outcome.... the video is still choppy at points and it's like the video codec jumps ahead in time, leaving behind 1-2 seconds of video... then it must stop and re-buffer.

I don't know what to do.

Yes.. Fred, you're right !
But that must be sayed here again and rel should add the following files for the next version...

To register DDSOURCE.AX:
... if neccessary call the delivered batch-file named DDREG.BAT

To UN-register DDSOURCE.AX:
... rel should add a file named DDUNREG.BAT !

In both variants the /S parameter should not be implemented.
Maybe it's fine for having no result - but there's is no info if something going wrong !
Better having one more klick on YES then never know what happens...

Yes but as ddreg.bat file is called at each DD start, it could be very annoying And if DDSource.ax is not fine registred, DD shows a message box !

if you check the error in every version, can you check the forum rules too ?

- If you dont have anything new to add, do not posts under the same bug threads again and again! (i.e. messages like "bug is still not fixed" arent allowed! unless it is said the bug is fixed!) One exception to this rule, if bug has been reported by someone else , you can confirm it.

I've tested DD 1.4a and 1.4b on 6 different PC (Sempron 3000+, Athlon XP 2500+, Athlon XP 3200+, Athlon 64 3500+, Pentium D920 and Centrino 1.5Ghz) with several devices (DVB-S or DVB-T) and have not encountered such issue.

Tested codecs (VMR9 & Overlay) :
- Cyberlink PDVD 6
- Cyberlink PDVD 7
- Cyberlink PDVD 7.3
- Nvidia PureVideo
- Intervideo WinDVD 7
- Intervideo WinDVD 8

Right !!! But only happens when using nVidia PureVideo v4020.223.0.0, no freeze at all with Intervideo v8.0.6.109 or Cyberlink v8.0.0.36.

when you type "ddsource.ax update (1.5) - fix for some crash and buffer problems " , * ddsource.ax update (1.4) Fix for crash problem !
