XMLTV Plugin for DVBDream?

Postby bond00 » Sun Nov 11, 2007 12:55 pm

Is there a XMLTV plugin for DVBDream so the channels and EPG can be exported to XMLTV format? Thanks!

Anybody? I've looked at haven't seen one, but I'm pretty new to this so that's why I'm asking. I'm just looking for something similar to XMLTV2MTEPG123 for MyTheatre.

Also, where/how are the channels stored? If it's a fairly easy format to work with...maybe I could create the XMLTV plugin. Any input?

No there isn't one. Why would there be one? What do you want to do with it?

If you want something to export the guide to xmltv just use tsreader. It has xmltv built in, no plugin needed.

Thanks for the info. I've heard of TSReader, but when I saw the price tag of $99, I looked elsewhere. To get XMLTV export, you have to purchase the Pro Edition...the Lite edition for free does not have it.

The reason why I would like XMLTV export functionality is because I'm using the SageTV plugin with DVBDream and the SageTV EPG is lacking...it does not have some of my channels in the EPG database and it does not show what is playing on PPV. It just says PPV in the guide.

Depending on the complexity of the chlist.chl file, I might be able to write the interface myself. Can anyone provide any information on the chlist.chl file and what format its in, etc.? Thanks!!

is is possible to export my channel list or a favorite channel list preferably using CHLEdit or DVBDream? If it is, then I can write a program converting the export to XMLTV format. For those who use SageTV, this will enable us to see what's on PPV instead of just "Pay Per View" in the Sage EPG. It will also much the process of importing channels from DVBDream into SageTV much easier.

So if anyone knows of a way to export a favorites list to csv or some other more friendly format than the .chl file. I would really like to know! Thanks!

What would be the "Command line arguements" for running this module?

I don't think dvbdream modules have access to the command line, but I could be wrong.

How can I get this plugin to run automatically at 3am everyday?

I don't know of a reliable way to get a module to run at a set time, and you wouldn't want to possibly interrupt a recording. Maybe the dvbdream author has a suggestion if he reads here.
