HD channels not scanning

Postby LeechBot » Sat Jan 19, 2008 3:58 pm

My SD transponder scans worked fine. I've double-checked my settings with the info at hxxp://www.lyngsat.com/hd/110west.html but only the 4 HD channels on transponder 12311 actually scan in. My frequency, polarity, symbol rate, FEC, and modulation are all set correctly, but manually scanning transponders 12399 and 12457 always times out and DD reports "no signal." But when I scan these same transponders with MyTheatre I pick up 11 HD channels on 12399 and 7 HD channels on 12457, and these HD channels' audio and video work fine in MyTheatre. Any suggestion how to get DD to scan the HD transponders?

My 2500.ini was already correct. The HD transponders are the ones of the form "nn,nnnnn,x,21500,23,Turbo-8PSK". I have all the same HD transponders as you, plus a couple more as indicated at LyngSat:

hxxp://www.lyngsat.com/hd/110west.html

DD still fails to detect any HD channels, even though MT finds them.

Also, I notice you have: 22=12516,V,20000,34

Is that transponder giving you any channels with that FEC? If you're not getting Biography, Military Channel, VH1 Classic, Showtime East, or TMC West you might want to set that transponder's FEC to 56 or auto, even though LyngSat indicates 34.

Did you try to remove ALL plugins (which did not come with official DD distribution) before scan?
They can interfere with scan engine.

It's safe to use Auto-FEC for all QPSK transponders.
You need to use explicit FEC for Turbo-FEC only.
