Need some help with Skywalker-1 and DVB Dream settings.

Postby Tukane » Sat Jul 19, 2008 8:51 am

I need some help; I am using a Genpix Skywalker-1 with DVB Dream. I am able to get almost all the non HD transponders / channels, however I am unable to get any of the HD channels (T-8psk). I should mention that I am manually scanning each transponder and I have used both the default transponder / sat list, Joshfun’s, and Lyngsat’s.
My sat dish is a Dish 1000, which I believe has a built in DPP Twin, please correct me if I am wrong. I have tried every combination mentioned on this site and by Googling.
A couple of the setups I have tried are:
1. Diseqc set as non, port one with 119 with LOF1 11250000 LOF2 14350000, no RAW and a RAW of EO 11 38 F2, 22HZ both off and controlled, uncommitted is always off in all my variations. Using Backstacked Dishpro Ku-Hi

2. Diseqz set as V1.0 or V2.0, port one with 119 port 2 with 110, port 3 with 129. LOF1 11250000 LOF2 14350000, no RAW and a RAW of EO 11 38 F2, 22HZ both off and controlled, uncommitted is always off in all my variations. Using Backstacked Dishpro Ku-Hi.

I have dishn** receivers VIP622 and VIP211, both receivers receive all of Dishes channels (HD and non) with no problems. I even had Dish realign the Dish after a recent storm so I know it’s aligned properly. The VIP211 is not connected when I have the Genpix connected as I use that coax line for the Genpix.
Just in case you need my system specs to help me, the comp that has the Skywalker on it is a Core 2 Quad 2.5, 4 gig mem, 8000GT AKIMBO / 1GB mem.
I will take a wild guess and say that if I am able to receive most of the non HD channels that the Genpix device is working as it should. I posted in a different forum about this and someone suggested that maybe the Skywalker isn’t working, however I figured that if I am able to receive most of the non HD transponders and not the T8psk’s that it’s my settings that are wrong.
Sorry for the long post, I figured I would put everything I could think of in one post and try to eliminate the common questions.
I have been working on this for about a week, so any help will be greatly appreciated. If you need a list of the transponders I am missing please let me know.

Open transponder file with notepad and verify that the format matches this;

X=(Transponder number),V (or H),21500,23,Turbo-8PSK

for each transponder that has SR of 21500
Twinhan 1020a driver 2.4.1.1, Skystar2 2.3 driver 4.4.0, Genpix USB, T90 and SG2100 w QPH-031.

Thank you, I will do that right now and get back to you with what I find out.

Edit: Ok I checked the ini's all the SR's with 21500 were in the format of X=(Transponder number),V (or H),21500,23,Turbo-8PSK

I am not familiar with the Dish 1000 dish but it sounds like the internal dpp switch might be a problem to set up in diseq. 119 carries no HD and 110 has 6 or 8 HD channels all in the higher channel range. If you want to verify that the Genpix is working properly I'd aim at 129 only with cable running straight from the circular lnb to reciever with no switches. You could do this with an old DTV dish. Hope this helps.....it might be that you could use the single or 129 lnb on the Dish 1000 dish to run direct to reciever....Additionally the genpix may not have enough power to power a DPP switch. Email Genpix on this issue.
