fyi: you are talking about SD mpeg-2 card.
It won't give you HD.
Modern CPUs/GPUs (I'm not talking about expensive top of the line products) are fast enough for SD mpeg-2 (less then 10% cpu time consumption)

i live in belgium, watching mostly french tv, and HD isnt the standard and wont be before 5-10years. only movies on private channels are broadcasted in HD on some channels.
i have a 3200+ and cant get a correct deinterleaved stream under 50% cpu use. ofc i could use a low quality codec, and drop cpu use to 10%, but in this case it would be easier to watch analogic cable TVs. i have 2 screens, 1 32" to watch tv and one 21" to play games, and actually i cant play and watch TV because of the cpu use (deinterleaving). since mpeg2 cards costs 10euros on ebay, if it works, why not?
