Are my channels changing slow??

Hey guys,

i've been fooling around with this program and I have successfully scanned most of the Dish channels. I'm not sure if it is just me or if my channels change sort of slow. They usually take between 4 and 6 seconds to switch and sometimes once they switch the video/audio stutters a bit. After the program is running for a while it gets a little better.. usually between 3 and 4 seconds with little stuttering. my setup is:

Twinhan 1020a with BDA driver
Intel C2D e4300 @ 3ghz
2 gig ddr2-800 ram
crappy video card...

what do you guys think? is that normally how it reacts or could it be better?
