trouble with Pip/Multi-recording

Postby Jo Bold » Fri Jul 07, 2006 1:51 am

hi,

when i open a PiP, DD always freezes after some seconds and can only be stopped with the Taskmanager (Tested on BBCi).

Normal SD-Programms need about 3-5% CPU-Usage.
I'm using Elecard for SD and Cyberlink for H.264(also not real watchable).
No other Programms working in the Background.

My System:
Asus P5WD2
Intel Pentium D930 3Ghz (Dual)
Ram 2Ghz
Ati X1300Pro

Does anybody have a hint for me :?:

Kind Regards
Jo Bold

Try Sonic or ATI for SDTV and ATI for HDTV (H264) - more here.

I am using FFdshow for mpeg audio and video and... it is the codec which uses less CPU. I am not sure if I can remember properly but I think only twinhan users have got problems with multipip recording. I am sure rel is investigating it and he'll fix that as soon as he's able to.
P4 3.0GHz 1024 MB of ram, nvidia Geforce 6600, SS2 rev 2.6, WDM drivers 4.41, SG2100, always latest DVBDream with the latest FFDshow.

thank You

found a working solution for me :D

now i'm using:
Video Codec; ATI
Audio Codec: Cyberlink
Video Renderer: Video Mixing Renderer 9
Audio Renderer: Realtek HD Audio Output

Recording three Streams from BBCi gave me a sometimes stuttering Picture and audio(viewing live), but the recordings are ok :D
CPU-Usage is between 25-35%

When i let DD show all available PiP's (6+Main) all pictures are stuttering and CPU-Usage is up to 60%

PS:
Like mentioned in the other thread, i copied both lines into the guids.ini, but the H.264 Codec wont show up in the H.264 Drop-Down-Menu :(
Will try this again another time.

Best Regards

Make sure you have the same ATI codec as mentioned in the other thread. Then copy H264 part od guids.ini here, we'll try to fix it. :)

no, it works well here without problem with Twinhan 1020A and 1030 CI.

I think you might have another problem there. (maybe codecs or pip plugins)

@Jo Bold
attached the guids.ini

use "high" priority in DD (options->priority)
try recording in TS format (options->preferences->record)
Attachments
guids.ini
with the codec from ATI AVIVO package
(5.98 KiB) Downloaded 469 times
DVB Dream - because I have to dream about having time to code it
