Choppy video playback with new DVBDream 1.4

I've just upgraded to DD 1.4 and now I experience some problems on some channels. I have choppy video playback on channels from the "Mediaset" network (italy), and also on RTL 102.5.
Other channels play at a reduced frame rate, and the audio frequently pauses and skips.
Recordings from these channels come out all right, no pauses and skips there.
One strange thing is that if I go to Options->DVB Card options and click "Reset Queue" a couple of times, all problems go away and the video is OK ... (until i change channel)
I set all the options like my previous DD1.3c setup, including video decoder options (nvidia purevideo) and audio (ffdshow), which worked flawlessly

i usually use dvb dream 1.3c for watching and now upgrade to 1.4 and the same problem in some channels in nile sat like mbc network
that problem never get it with ddream 1.3c or any other program
i use nvidia purevideo codec for video and cyberlink codec for audio

I shall add that I've already tried to switch those "sensitive" options on and off, like the one to reconstruct directshow after changing channel (that takes a lot of time), but to no avail.
Also, my CPU is constantly to 1-3% so no CPU speed problem.
@xmanlolo: did you try that "reset queue" trick?

Seems to be a memory-allocating prob.
Take a look a the taskmanager if allocated memory is still increasing during play.
It's independet on what your tick here or there in DD and happens with every interface.
rel is informed about that behavior.

I just verified: the memory allocation increments steadly while on choppy channels, and after a certain limit freezes the program... i've waited for it to take 80mb of RAM.
While watching working channels the memory increase is much slower, and eventually stops before freeze

1) "Reset DS on channel change" must be active. (default setting)
2) Some codecs might not work fine with new source filter (ddsource.ax) as they used to. I hope this will improve in next versions.
3) Use WDM drivers wherever available and supported by DD.
In this conditions, I can't reproduce any serious freezing here .
The memory leak is another problem, it might affect when you keep watching for few hours but I don't think it is related.

yes, but ... when it's active, it takes forever to change channels... it's this that made me switch from progdvb to dd! and btw v1.3c worked well with this option off...
2) Some codecs might not work fine with new source filter (ddsource.ax) as they used to. I hope this will improve in next versions.
when do you think the next version will come out? do you think i'll better downgrade to 1.3c or stick with 1.4 for now?
3) Use WDM drivers wherever available and supported by DD.
i donwloaded drivers directly from Technisat... i think they're WDM drivers....
I can film my monitor's screen and put a link on youtube (or better, send the video directly to you) to show you the problem.... or maybe with my webcam... i'm at your feets

Why not just go back to 1.3c? Are there features in 1.4 that you want?

It looks Cyberlink codecs are working the best with v1.4, I have miscellaneous problems with all other codecs, reported in this forum. So try Cyberlink for video and audio and overlay renderer.

with wdm driver or bda in two card 1020a and 1030a whith default setting
and also sometimes happen with cyberlink codecs
we wait 1.4f or 1.5c tel that i'll use 1.3c

The problem is, i've reinstalled 1.3c but i have similar problems.... no more choppy playback in some channels.... but lags, stutters and occasional lockups in ALL channels
And trust me it's not a receiver problem or a codec problem.... i changed nothing, just installed DD 1.4

When was the last time you formatted your computer?
It is probably time to format the machine, which will clean up windows, and clean up your codecs. Then reinstall 1.3c and see how it goes.
I had to format my computer in order to get smooth playback with any program, it can make a big difference. Try to keep other programs and crap to a minimum too, install the bare essentials.

I will not format my PC ... my windows setup is many months old and I format only coz sometimes i change critical hardware components...
I know how to manage a windows install, and everythjing works fine for me now.
The maximum i'll go is to reinstall the nvidia codec, even if it currently works correctly, coz during playback of recorded videos WMP correctly loads the purecodecs and the video plays smoothly without hitches and skips. So, as for me this is a DD issue and i'll reinstall Progdvb and wait until this is corrected.
