just curious what you recommend for audio buffer? As I change channels on mpeg2 streams, I get 1 of 3 things happening. #1 no audio. #2 sound is chirping(inaudible) #3 sound buffer climbs out of control yet does nothing as far as audio is concerned.
I have tried settings of 64kb, 128kb, 160kb. Nothing fixes this at all. I didnt report it as a bug since i beleive i have the incorrect setting for buffer. Thanks.
Rel, what are your recommendations for sound buffer in 1.4c

I would say you have no problem with buffer size, since you have a good system with a fast CPU.
You must give a try to other audio codecs. First, you must have plenty to test with.
Which audio codec have you been using ? If you are using Intervideo, and you don't have packet losses , there might be a bug too. (copy paste the codec information using the button "1" in video options)
to check packet losses : main menu->analysis->pid statistics, is there any number greater than 0 in "Con.Err" column ?
Is this problem particular to a channel or a video/audio type? (MPEG2 SD, MPEG2 HD, H264 and MPEG/AC3 Audio?) Please let me know. (copy paste the channel information from channel properties using the button "1".)

DVB Dream - because I have to dream about having time to code it
Video Codec.....: CyberLink (New) (v8.0.0.55 - 9/6/2007)
Audio Codec.....: nVidia (New) (v4020.185.0.0 - 10/17/2005)
H264 Codec......: CoreAVC (v1.5.0.0 - 8/5/2007)
Video Renderer..: Video Mixing Renderer
Audio Renderer..: Realtek HD Audio output
main audio and streaming-audio are fine, in fact all Continuity error points to 0 so i think im ok with it. Mostly occurs on mpeg2 hd, occasionally on mpeg2 sd. H264/ac3 audio all appears to be just fine. Incidently this has been occuring since 1.4b, 1.4c. Using 1.4 it is perfect and never had a probelm with audio. As you see above I am using nvidia codec for audio, I never can get intervideo to work as it just stays pink. I prefer nvidia for the choices it gives you in the audio setup as well. If i am not mistaken, my codec listed above is used from Nvidia Purevideo decoder.
