Hi,
I am trying to playback a recording of FTA HD test cards on 61.5 E*.
The TS files record file, but I cant seem to play them back on anything.
I've tried playign them in VLC, MPC. I've also tried to first demux it first with Haali Media Splitter.
all i get is a grey screen playback, and the audio
I've done a lot of searching but no luck - is this possible ?
thanks,

Ahem. Looks like you know a whole lot more than I do about that transponder. Lyngsat still shows it as encrypted, too.
At least you have one of the few tuners that can handle 8PSK. I mistakenly thought I was going to see the fish channel with my Twinhan 1025... Sadly no chance of that given (virtually?) all HD on Dish uses 8PSK modulation.

Anyone knows which player play h264 DVB-S .ts files like Canal+ Film HD or Canal+ Sport HD or NG HD?
WMP, VLC, SubEdit shows error.

MPC works for me playing back H.264 .ts files. Record as .ts in DD1.4d using Nvidia Purevideo audio/video codecs, VMR, Default direct sound and Coreavc 1.5.

Update - only very short ts files will play in MPC. I have tried media player 10, 11; Zoom, VLC, Elecard and Nero. The bigger files never load.
Questions:
1 - mpg files playback within DD - why don't TS
2 - why can't a h.264 stream be recorded in other than TS? Mpg settings makes the file empty.

Update: MPC with HDTVPump works great in XP.
I have given up on all Vista and gone back to XP. Vista will just die anyway. I might add XP64 for games though as a dual boot.

I am using the free MPEG StreamClip to edit/convert my ts recordings both from HD and SD channels.

choppy playback of h.264 .ts recordings with mpc

All tips in this thread have been very useful. I can record and playback h.264 streams now. In DD, the video is smooth as can be. Under MPC (which is the only player that displays any video), the video is mostly choppy or pixelated. It does not seem to matter what video settings I use in DD1.6h for recording (any acceptable combinations in Autograph or various settings in Options tab). Any suggestions for playback or recording settings would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I do not know why it's working now, but it is. Thanks again for a great thread.
