I can use "vlc udp://@" and it works, but I don't know how to get vlc to "stretch" the video to fill the whole screen properly.

I'd like to use mplayer, but "mplayer udp://127.0.0.1:1234" fails. ("nop_streaming_read error : No such file or directory") Is there a way to get it to work?

I don't know anything about mplayer but if you want to stretch VLC just right-click on the video and select "crop" then 16:9 that will stretch the video.

No, AFAIK, try MPC, it has many aspect ratio options and DVB Dream supports streaming to MPC.

I want to do the same thing cause I'd like to slow down by 4% streaming for PAL. I'd like to use smplayer which uses mplayer, it doesn't support UDP I guess

mplayer supports UDP anyway so I can't understand why it doesn't play
