Sound syncing problems on HD

After hours of trying different codecs etc I can not get the audio/video to sync on HD channels please can anyone help. I have got an external Creative Audigy 2 NX soundcard connected up to a USB2.0 port
Pinnacle Sat Pro PCI
AMD Athlon 64 x2 4000
ATI X1650 Pro 512Mb
2Gb Dual channel ram
Windows XP PRO SP2
