Noob question - never finds a signal.

Hi!

I have a usb TV dongle thing. Haven't really got a clue what I'm doing but I'm trying to get Freeview to appear.

Anyway, when I start up DVB Dream I choose DVB Terrestrial - I should think thats the right option as the ariel comes from the roof and the other options give a hardware error. (I said I was a noob!)

I click OK to everything but when I get to the page about codecs, it objects to mine 'cannot create video decoder filter'.. Thought I'd sort that out later.

Next I guess its time to scan for channels, and thats where I'm having a problem. It'll scan from 474 to 858mhz and never find any.

Am I doing something really obvious wrong?

Update!

If all else fails, you can always check your aerial (<-- look I even learned how to spell the word since my last post!)

I did say it was a noob problem..
