In the video codec selection screen only the "null" option appears no other codecs. An I am not getting any Audio or video.
I have elecard installed but also this one does not show up. DSFM shows several CODEC's.
Before I did have it working but after a crash. installing a new video card and re-installing I have this codec problem.

compare the CLSIDs between guids.ini and DSFM

try to install WinDVD and PowerDVD (trial versions are ok) to have intervideo and cyberlink codecs

Thanks, is the guids.ini created upon installation and does it search for the actual installed codecs, or is it a standard table?

Many users in the german forum find fault that there are codecs listed - but nothing works.... because the selected codec isnt yet installed.

My idea:
Forget a / the predefined GUIDS.INI and asked the system which codecs are real available at the moment.

I've got some source to do this - in delphi. If i can help you out with that ? !

Here is my little tool to check, which codecs are actually available on your machine.
I hope all will be listed...

Simply copy the file 'CheckCodec.EXE' to a location of your wish.
After closing there will be a file 'GUIDS.INI' in the same directory.
Has same format as DD's ini.

NOT ALL LISTED CODECS MUST WORK !
