supported device - technisat skystar hd2 ?

Postby ubinici » Mon Mar 17, 2008 4:51 am

Hello Friends, I will buy technisat skystar hd 2 (dvbs2 card) card today and I do not know whether or not this card can work with DVBdream. I could not see this card in dvbdream supported device list. Please advise. Thanks.

Not sure about HD2

Postby djpaul1963 » Tue Mar 18, 2008 12:43 am

I also bought it last week but can't make it to work yet with DD's BDA driver or Scanman's alternative. DD driver says 'can't initialize hardware' and scanman's doesn't have any picure/sound/level/quality so I guess it can't start it either even without displaying any error message.
I tried it on 1.4i p1 and 1.4h as well.

I am not sure yet if it can be used or not because I have a second skystar 2 on the same pc and maybe there is a conflict between them so I wanted to try it on another pc first to be sure it does work or not.

Somewhere in the forum must be some posts about it but couldn't find them yet.

If someone has a knowledge about it please advise.

Cheers,

Dj

yes, it works with ScanMan's latest BDA_ALL interface. You just need to change DiSEqCMode=1 (default is 3) in BDA_ALL.ini file

DD & SkyStar HD2

Postby djpaul1963 » Tue Mar 18, 2008 2:05 pm

I will try it as soon as possible!
Thank you very much for the info!

EDIT: It worked just fine! Now the problem is I don't have picture & sound with coreavc plugin. I'm trying the FTA National Geographic HD on Hotbird. What kind of codec you have?

hi atutus, which hd channels can you watch by dvbdream 1.4i with scanman's bda driver ? Could you please send me your plugin file to watch these hd channels if you have ? If you can inform me how I would use it, it would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Hi

atutus are you sure the the Skystar HD2 work? Because for what I know Scanman is aware that his DBA drive doesn't work with the Skystar HD2 and also I tried putting the "1" but I have the same Dj's results.

Regards

@ubinici
I have only Astra 19.2 and can receive all type of German channels with usual vp... Just my computer's hardware is not enough to watch them perfectly.

@ugo1
Maybe you should find a channellist on web.

Hi,

@atutus

So you can't scan the satellite to research new channels right?

Of course not. It's just a suggestion. I have usually signal problem due to cable length, satelitte exact direction, etc... With Dvbdream I can find all the channels after scanning (hope so :). There is no problem with using SS HD2 with Dvbdream, scanning channels and watching them.

But with Dvbviewer I couldn't. Therefore I used a ready channellist for that.

I don't know why you couldn't get work it with Dvbdream. I didn't make any special settings except ScanMan's BDA interface.

I scanned 42e turksat, 19,2e astra and 13e hotbird by dvbdream with scanman's bda driver and no problem. it works very good. To scan turksat, most important thing is "be patient". at the beginning I had a error message while scanning and I said OK and then I went on scanning turksat. It scanned all turksat channels. astra and hotbird took short time for scanning. They were very easy. Dvbdream is the best dvbs program I have ever seen. Unfortunately, I could not see any hd channels since all of them is coded. do you have any advise to watch hd channel in hotbird or 19,2 astra ?
