what's wrong with your Technotrend DVB-S2 card?
why do you want to replace it with another DVB-S2 ?

i have seen a hauppauge hvr 4000 dvb-s2 at my mates house, and the picture clarity on his pc is so good. his system spec is very similar to mine as well, maybe because hauppauge has better drivers thats why the picture is so good. he is using mytheatre v3.38 with cyberlink codecs and there is no deinterlacing problem with dxva on, and picture looks too good compare to my tv usb device. my technotrend has not even released any drivers this year, it was dec 2007 their last release, and maybe thats the case with the picture. i have used trial version of mytheatre but i still have picture quality issues like no deinterlacing with dxva on and picture is ok but not good.
correct me if am wrong about anything
thanks for your reply, :)
i hope you or anyone else could help me here.
(would love to see an internal deinterlacing support on dvbdream like the mytheatre 3.38

A hardware driver is only controlling the hardware themself - e.g. tune to a TP....

It doesnt matter which kind of hardware yoz have - an USB box or an internal PCI-Card. The digital data is always the same !

If your picture quality is poor it could depend on the codecs you are using. Also the settings of your video-card and the renderer you are using.

Exactly!
Hauppage DVB-S2 and Technotrend DVB-S2 cards would provide you identical digital streams.
You would see absolutely no difference.

neither card does any MPEG decoding or video output.
Thus, picture quality depends on the rest of hardware/codecs in your PC, but DVB-s card.

It's like saying:
I upgraded my harddrive from 300GB to 500GB, and picture quality of recorded movies is SO MUCH BETTER now! :D

end of the day, if i was to buy a PREMIUM tv card with dvb-s2 support, which card would you recommend (price is not a issue)
and by the way, do any tv card support windows server 2008?
thank you
