Problems with Avermedia A310 on Acer 5920G laptop

Hi there
I've recently purchased an Acer 5920G laptop. One of the first things I did, was ditching the Vista Ultimate it came with. Instead I installed Windows XP Pro x64.
It didn't take long to find all necessary drivers and programs to get up and running.
One of the features my laptop has, is a built in Avermedia A310 DVBT tuner card. I would love to get this to work, but so far I've had a hard time getting anywhere.
I've tried the first 3-4 free programs like progdvb, mediaportal etc. none of these have seemed to work. All I've managed was to get progdvb to do some scanning.
I've now stumbled upon dvbdream and it seems like a better program than the others I've tried.
After installing and launhcing the app, it quickly says "Cannot initialize DVB hardware! ErrorCode:14
Under device I can see BDA and in the box it says Avermedia BDA digital tuner. So somehow it did find my card. I've tried messing with the offset but with no luck.

I've tried so many things getting this to work the last few days, but I'm a complete n00b when it comes to video/dvbt/tuner stuff.
So please bare with me, I've taken the step to join this forum to once and for all learn something.
I really hope someone out there will take the time to help me. It would be greatly appreciated!
