Using 22 KHz switches with Twinhan 1027 Azurwave

Has anybody tried this? Connect a 22 KHz switch to the two sat ports on the DP500 LNB and use it instead of the internal disecq switch to switch between sats. A 22KHz switch has a much simpler protocol over diseqc switches.
On a single receiver setup, it might be a workaround for the diseqc problem but I don't have a 22 KHz switch to try it on.
