Picture Quality SD and HD

Hey there! I was curious as to what I should expect for picture quality. I'm currently using DvbDream with my Skywalker-1 attached to an HTPC and then attached to a Samsung 52" LCD. Upon initial install, I noticed that the picture, at best is very grainy (fuzzy) on HD channels. I am using the most current CODEC's (Nvidia Purevideo/CoreAVC). Not sure if I'm missing something, as forum searches seem to indicate that picture quality is great. Then again, I'm fairly new to this. Movies SD and HD local to the HTPC are crisp.

I appreciate your help!

My hardware Specs are within the signature.

DN looks great on my 1000.2 dish connected to my ViP622 receiver. I guess if you're unhappy with the picture quality, than you should pursue a different endeavor. I will admit, however, that everything is interpreted by the individual differently.

Are you using a dvi to hdmi cable? What resolution do you have your pc set to? What renderer are you using?

I am using a DVI-HDMI cable and the PC is set to 1920x1080. Like I had mentioned; HD movies look amazing and have no issues there. I'm using the VMR9 renderer.

Thanks!

While tuned to an h264, goto: Options->Video under the cropping scrollers you should see CoreAVC in a short vertical list. Double click to tinker with settings. Also the latest version is 1.7pro.

I hope this helps.
