Signal Issue with 129.1 w

Postby obsidian » Sun Aug 24, 2008 4:11 pm

Hi all,

Have strange problem with 129.1w bird. I have about 80% signal strength on the bird normally but after watching about 15 minutes or so the signal strength fades to below 40%. And off course no picture. Have to switch to another bird and then shut and restart dvbdream for it get back to 80% on 129.1w.

Anyone else have encounter this problem?? or know if this a setting issue?? No simialar problem with other birds just this one.

Using:
genpix skywalker v.1.1.4
latest version of dvbdreami

diseqc setting:
ku-linear
LOF1 = 11250000
LOFsw = 0
LOF2 = 11250000

everything else default.

Thanks in advance

:cry: :?:

Go to Options>Preferences>Performance and try setting your lnb to 18+vdc setting......may or may not help.

Are you possibly using a DP34 switch, if so you might not have enough power to power this switch? Have you tried eliminating any switches by running direct from lnb to the card? More information about your setup would be helpful.

not using a DP34 switch. Using a 4x1 diseqc switch. not sure if it's a power issue since i have 82, 91, 110 and 129 all plugged into the diseqc switch. Only 129 seems to be having the problem. does 129 reguire any special lnb??

you need bigger dish for 129 sat.
129 sat is known to have fluctuating power.
Though, not as much as you see.
Usually, it's 10-15% within half-hour.

You may need a bigger dish, or better alignment.

already using a 33" dish. How much bigger are we talking bout? getting good signal strength at 80%

maybe i'll point it to 61.1 instead, does 61.1 have power fluctuation too?

thanx

My guess is your diseqc is bad. Try a different one to check it out.

I had the same problem and a new diseqc took care of it. I am guessing you also checked your cable ends.
