Hello all,

Xp sp3
Genpix Skywalker-1 dev file 1.1.4
1000.2
Diseq 1.0 1.2 with 3 ports active 22khz tone on Legacy LNB
Nvidia Codec for mpeg2
CoreAVC for H.264
Nvidia 9600 GT 512
Signals from 3 birds are about 80%
Proper grounding for the dish.

Not sure if this is a hardware issue or a codec issue....

I can watch TV HD/SD and all seems to be good but about 2-5 minutes in the channels will freeze up, I change the channel and sometimes the new channel will pop right on and sometimes it takes a minute or 2.

Nvidia pro codec is installed for mpeg2 nvidia for sound, Render 9, Default direct sound, CoreAVC for h.264

I have only had DVBDream up and running for a day or 2 now, but I have only been able to watch a 30 minute show once and then it promplty froze the video.

Things I have done so far:
Removed all codecs installed via device manager
hard rebooted both GP and the machine several times
Tried version 1.3C with the same results.
Checked the log file but there are no errors

DvbDream still continues to run and I can access the GUI but video is stopped, and if I go to analyze the stream I see nothing.

any help is appreciated, I have searched but haven't found anything, if you have some search suggestions I will be more than happy to search for them.

Thanks

You might try disabling the CoreAVC codec temporarily to see if DD remains stable. If DD remains stable you might want to play with the buffer sizes for the H.264 codec.

Could there be a problem with SP3? I have seen posts on other boards eluding to problems with SP3 but no one ever said what they were.

I will try disabling CoreAVC and let you know, thanks for the suggestion.

what's the signal quality?
also, switch to renderless mode and open signal statistic: do you see a lot of CEs?

Signal strength is 100% both bars solid no fluctuation.
I see sometimes as little as 68% on some TP/Channels but it happens no matter what signal 100% or 60%

I placed DVBDream in renderless mode, but could not find signal statistics, do you mean analysis ==> PID Statistics?

Disbaling CoreAVC did not work =(

after each video lock up, the V Request and A Request stay at the last number it was on I never see -1.

my fps are as high as 45 fps with mpeg2 very minimal dropped packets if any, no packet loss, and no DS resets.

I changed my mpeg 2 buffer to 1 meg to see if it would fill it but it never goes over 1/8th of a bar for the video and sound dont move.

Machine stays at about 6-18% cpu usage

Channel change is fast, OSD EPG is good.

Figured it out, has nothing to do with Hardware or Codecs.

Read and understand before installing software you have no idea what it does.

Huh???

Why do you provide such a cryptic post? Other people read your post, if they have similar problems, use yours as a guide. If you just fix your issue without explanation, then the use of the board was a waste of time. HOW did you fix it?
