DVBDream not producing good video

I've tried for the last month or more to get DVBDream running well on my audio video computer. The computer is plenty powerful and I use it for watching full HD content without issues. The only program that can't even play SD content is DVB Dream. Its unuseable. I've tried everything I can think of and so many different codecs. The highest frame rate I can achieve is 20fps through DVB Dream. Needless to say, dropping a bunch of fps is not a good viewing experience.

I've asked here before and I've asked on other non DVB Dream forums, "Is there anyone that has any idea that might help my cause before I am forced to go to another program?"

I tried Mytheatre with the same settings as I used on DVBDream and it works great. That tells me that the problem is in DVB Dream and not in my codecs or equipment.

You aren't really telling us what you are using as far as codecs and such. Just saying "it aint working" doesn't help.

What is your cpu load?
What codecs are you using and what version?
What version of DD are you using?
What plugins are you using?
What EPG program are you using?
What are the settings that you have in "options"?
Have you followed the FAQ for your codec and any plugins to make them work with DD?

I am using the latest DVBDream version v1.4i. Genpix driver is the latest v1.1.4 for DVBDream. CPU load is about 10%.

The only plugin in use is em**ation. I am not installing any other plugins until I get the system playing video properly. I have all dishn** 110 and 119 satellites stations. Lately of course, I lost the HD satellites due to nagra 3 encoding. Tuning of the SD content channels is not an issue. They come in clear, just jerky video due to dropped frames.

No EPG program right now. I have to manually select the channels I want without a program guide. Eventually, if I get it to play video, I will install an EPG program.

I have tried all latest codecs from Cyberlink PDVD8, Intervideo, Nvidia Purevideo, ffdshow, coreAVC, Arcsoft, elecard, ATI, and a few more. They were enabled in the guid file, so I was able to use them. None made enough of a difference in quality of my SD content, although some were better than others. HD content played much better (when it was available) which makes me think its a codec issue rather than hardware. I have also tried it with and without hardware acceleration.

The video buffer never fills so buffer overflow is not an issue.

I have increased the cluster size on the hdd to make sure hard disk transfer time is not an issue (even though I am using a fast SATA hdd).

I have also tried VMR 9, VMR 7, and overlay for rendering. Overlay was the best but still did not make enough difference to make it watchable.

I know the system can handle it because I use this machine as a videoplayer and it handles HD content and SD content with the same codecs as I'm trying with DVBDream.

When using mytheatre with the same disq and satellite settings, it plays great, so LNB settings are ok and Genpix hardware and setup is ok.

As for actual settings, there are too many to list. Are there settings specific to DVBDream that will make a difference in video quality that I may be overlooking?

not related to your video problem, but:
1.1.4 is not the latest genpix interface.
1.1.5 is the latest.
