Can I record mpeg video without Elecard codec? I have installed Descaler 0.0.6 as Video and Audiocodec. But when i try to record as mpeg i have the Elecard warning message in the recorded video.

As far as I know...codec should have no effect on recordings.....you are just capturing the mpeg from sat feed.

With the info that you've provided it would be my best guess that the player you are using to play back the mpeg wants to use the Elecard Codec for playback.

Maybe look it the config for the codec you want to use to playback the recording and see if you can set it as the prefered codec for mpeg. You can also do this though a filter(codec) manager by setting the codecs merit higher, so it uses the codec of your choice for playback...(more advanced).

If you have any questions still, please post most information....

I had Descaler Video + Audio Code activated in the config window. But i have seen on the left pane of the config window (active DS Filter) the Elecard Audio Codec is in action. The dscaler video codec seems to be ok.

I have found the tool DirectShow Filtermanager and changed the merit value for elecard AUDIO + VIDEO to a lower value. I started DVBDream again and found ffshow as audio codec in action, configured dscaler audio is ignored from DD.

I have changed the merit value of dscaler audio to a higher value.

Now in the config window are both dcaler codecs in action. And the problem of the trial message has gone.

Then i´m reading your post - At least i have tested to play the record file with a change back to the max merit value for elecard video codec and see the message again. You are right the problem was the player, he takes the elecard video codec with the high merrit value.

But during use of DD i can see in the config window that the elecard audio codec was in action and descaler audio configured...regards from the merrit value.
